Free help for children with dyslexia

Is your child having trouble with reading, writing, or spelling? We can help.

The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation Learning Centre for Calgary offers, one-on-one tutoring for children with dyslexia at no cost to the family. We use the scientifically proven components of the Orton-Gillingham approach to help children learn step-by-step.

Who can apply?

Your child may be able to join our program if they:

  • Are under the age of 18
  • Have been diagnosed with dyslexia
  • Have a psycho-educational report showing average ability
  • Can come to the centre twice a week after school
  • Have support from a parent or caregiver
  • Are deemed by the Centre Director to be a good candidate for the Centre’s program using the Orton Gillingham approach

Application process

Getting started is simple:

  1. Complete an application
    • Fill out the online form
    • or Download and print the PDF form
  2. Send us your child’s psycho-educational report
  3. We will contact you
    • We’ll review your application and inform you of your child’s eligibility for our program.

If your child is accepted, we will match them with an appropriately trained tutor when one is available.
